Overview
“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” is the final movie in the current Star Wars trilogy. It follows the story of Rey, Finn, and Poe Dameron as they try to defeat the First Order and the mysterious Emperor Palpatine. Plot
The movie starts with the First Order hunting down Kylo Ren, who is looking for Emperor Palpatine. Meanwhile, Rey is training with General Leia Organa to be a Jedi. She has been having visions of Palpatine and is worried about his return. Finn and Poe are on a mission to find information about the First Order’s new weapon, while the rest of the Resistance regroups and prepares for their final battle.
The group eventually comes together and travels to the planet Exegol to confront Palpatine. Kylo Ren battles Palpatine’s guards while Rey faces Palpatine alone. In the end, Rey defeats Palpatine with the help of the spirits of Jedi past. Kylo Ren sacrifices himself to save Rey, and the Resistance defeats the First Order in a final space battle.
Acting
The cast of “The Rise of Skywalker” is excellent. Daisy Ridley as Rey gives a powerful performance as a young Jedi struggling to find her place in the galaxy. John Boyega as Finn is both heroic and comedic, bringing levity to some of the film’s darker moments. Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron is suave and charming, and his chemistry with both Finn and Rey is palpable. Adam Driver as Kylo Ren is conflicted and intense, and his redemption arc is satisfying.
Visual Effects
The visual effects in “The Rise of Skywalker” are top-notch. The space battles are thrilling, and the lightsaber duels are beautifully choreographed. The planets and creatures are imaginative and engaging.
